Clinical Assistant Program

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Physician-led Clinical Assistant Prep (CAP) program (150-hour program) will teach foundational knowledge and basic science in medical terminology, basic pharmacology and nutrition, and anatomy and physiology, clinical patient care in electrocardiography, phlebotomy, parenteral administration, point of care testing, assessment & management skills of the patient, and administrative tasks as it applies to a clinical medical assistant. The achievement of these skills will allow students to obtain a successful volunteer-based internship in the clinical setting with direct patient care experience where they will intern as a medical assistant. All students will be eligible to sit for the national certification exam in Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA) upon completion of the program and gain employment as a CCMA. Our CMA certification exam pass rate is 98%. This course is a web-assisted, in-person course.

Students will be performing the required clinical skills on their classmates, including but not limited to venipuncture skills.

Course Price: $995.00 (no internship) or $1695.00 (with internship – click here to learn more about clinical internships)

Any internship outside of the Tallahassee area must be pre-approved through the Director prior to registering.

*Course price does not include the national certification exam or internship screening fees.
