Show your commitment to professional development, patient care and quality work by earning your NCCA-accredited certification through NHA. Passing a nationally accredited exam means a student is more likely to be work-ready. Employers value the standardization national certification provides and use it to screen job applicants. Employers are also more likely to increase pay when an employee earns a professional certification. According to the 2023 Industry Outlook 81% of employers require certification for medical assistants and the salary range for a certified medical assistant is $14.30 – 17.88 an hour.

You must be a current HSC student, have a high school diploma, and no more than 60 days from successful completion of the program. HSC’s CCMA exam pass rate is 96% in-person course and 93% online course. The national average is 78%.

The CCMA exam is held at HSC in-person, it is not remote. You must bring a current government-issued ID or passport to testing. We can not accept a photocopy, digital ID, or picture. Results are available immediately after your test for the online exam.

***You must bring your own personal laptop for testing. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for specific laptop specifications.

*All fees are nonrefundable and cannot be rescheduled.
Registration closes approximately 10 days prior to the test date.

Notes

  • NHA recommends using wired network connections for proctored testing. Wireless/Wi-fi connections may be unreliable and could negatively affect testing.
  • Min resolution 1024 x 600.
  • Javascript and cookies must both be enabled within browser.
  • Android’s default browser is not supported; download chrome for a better experience.
  • Allow *.nhanow.com through the browser pop-up blocker (note some browsers may require user to enable tabbing.).
  • Clear browsing history and exit the browser prior to any testing.
  • Allow *.nhanow.com through all proxy/caching servers.
  • Satellite ISPs: NHA’s website functionality depends on direct connections to our website and databases in order to accurately display content. Because many ISPs cache webpages rather than allowing connection to the originating website, we are not able to guarantee performance of our website over a satellite connection.
  • Run a network speed test at http://www.speedtest.net from the testing location to ensure bandwidth is sufficient.
  • Close all applications that could draw attention away from the testing window (Antivirus scans, System Updates, etc.).
  • NHA internally tests their products using JAWS and NVDA to promote WCAG 2.0 compliant operations for assistive reading.

NHA recommends whitelisting the following sites/IP addresses.
